'Most Stylish New Yorker'-Kid Cudi

Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, also known as Kid Cudi is one of today's hottest entertainers. His music is unique and, in my opinion, the same goes for his style. Some may not think that Kid Cudi is the epitome of fashion-and I wouldn't go that far either. But, part of the idea of fashion, is being able to express yourself and letting your personality reflect through what you wear. Cudi is a perfect example of what fashion represents and that's why he is a fashion icon, in my opinion. He can rock the graphic tees with oversized glasses and he most definitely wears a suit quite well!

His style: “Simple and classic.”

His inspirations: “I always took [style tips] from my older brother and sister, who wore simple, classic things. But I still layered a lot, and in high school, I was a young young’un, all Phat Farmed–out, wearing Sean John, Ecko, Rocawear and Akademiks. I felt like I needed to buy what was cool, instead of just wearing comfortable shit. Now I feel like my personality is this character, and when you watch a cartoon show, the characters aren’t changing their outfit every 15 seconds. That’s why I wear the same jeans every day.”

I was unaware of the fact that Kid Cudi was named one of the most stylish New Yorkers! He was given this title on February of 2010 by Time Out New York. But, I have to say, I'm not too surprised with their choice-his style is definitely unqiue!

La Dispute-Nine

Love this song! I was reading the lyrics; I found the last line of each verse to be quite interesting.

"Just to document the difference between attraction and connection"

"Guess I still don't see the difference between real purpose and that urgent adolescence"

"Say we couldn't tell the difference between feeling and the sound"

Guernica

I first remember seeing Guernica in my art history class during my freshman year of college. I recently saw this painting again while reading one of my favorite blogs. It instantly reminded me of how much I love it. The Guernica painting is 11 feet tall and 25.6 wide and is located at the Museo Reina Sofia in Madrid, Spain. Guernica depicts suffering, agony, chaos and pain. Although what it depicts is tragedy, it is truly beautiful-inspiring, actually. This painting serves as a voice for those involved in the bombing of Guernica. There is so much history and emotion behind this painting, it blows my mind. This by far is my favorite painting, it think it's the reason why I enjoy art.

Amanda Seyfried-ELLE Magazine

Amanda Seyfried is the new cover girl for ELLE Magazine's April issue, I LOVE! I've always thought that Amanda Seyfried would be a great high fashion model. She has such an edgy, fierce and unique face that the camera loves. In ELLE's new issue she is covered in couture from head to toe! Jason Wu, Alexander McQueen, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana and Isabel Marant are just some of the designer labels she is wearing throughout her photos in ELLE.

CFDA Nominee-Alexander Wang

This past Wednesday the 2011 Council of Fashion Designers of America nomination event was sponsored by Swarovski. Designer Alexander Wang was nominated for three different categories. He was nominated for Womenswear Designer of the Year, Accessories Designer of the Year and Swarovski Award for emerging menswear designer. This has definitely been a big year for Alexander Wang- with opening a new store in Soho and successfully presenting his collection during New York Fashion Week, it's no wonder he was nominated. Out of all the categories, I personally believe he deserves the Swarovski Award for emerging menswear designer.

Michael Kors 2011 Spring Catalog

I recently got the Michael Kors spring catalog in the mail, so exciting! I literally want everything! The catalog includes plenty of handbags, clutches, shoes, sandals, sunglasses, watches and apparel for this upcoming spring. Also, judging from his runway show and catalog this season-white and tan will be the go to colors. Pinks, greens, yellows and blues will also be colors that will work well into the spring. I think this has got to be my favorite collection by Michael Kors!

A few of my favorites from the Michael Kors Spring 2011 catalog:
“I am in a sunshine state of mind! This month I am all about relaxed and easy dressing, from my ribbed tissue-weight pullovers to classically chic accessories. I am ready for spring!"-MK
